Tariq Riaz Wins the Cindy Edelstein Memorial Emerging Designer Award

We are proud to share that Tariq Riaz has been honored with the Cindy Edelstein Memorial Emerging Designer Award, recognizing his innovative contributions to the world of jewelry design. This award is a tribute to designers whose creations reflect groundbreaking artistry and technical brilliance, and we are thrilled that Tariq Riaz has been recognized for his distinctive approach to jewelry making.

Since launching his jewelry brand, Tariq Riaz has quickly become a name to watch in the industry. In the past year alone, he has won seven prestigious design awards from renowned competitions such as AGTA, JCK, and INSTORE. These accolades are a testament to his signature technique, Abrazo™, which allows jewelry pieces to adapt in size or be worn in various configurations, providing both elegance and functionality.

The inspiration behind his journey came from a deeply personal place. When Tariq’s wife was pregnant, she struggled to find a ring that fit her comfortably during and after her pregnancy. This led him to explore the intersection of art and mechanics, resulting in a revolutionary design philosophy that ensures jewelry can fit perfectly throughout different stages of life.

Tariq’s background in computer systems engineering played a key role in shaping his design process. After completing his degree at the University of Arizona, he worked with various tech companies, but his passion for problem-solving and mechanics found a new expression in jewelry design. He began his journey by studying with the GIA and traveling to Belgium, Germany, Afghanistan, and Pakistan to learn traditional jewelry-making techniques and source gemstones.

His first collection took over three years to create and consists of 21 platinum pavé set pieces, each combining technical precision with artistic inspiration. Today, Tariq Riaz continues to design jewelry that moves with the body, using innovative mechanisms like Abrazo™ to ensure a comfortable fit that lasts a lifetime.
